Meet the Exhibitors

Each exhibitor has a unique connection to Chinatown and perspective of how Chinatown is home to them.

Vivian Li, Laura Cheng, Katie Eng

Vivian, Laura, and Katie are childhood friends hailing from the greater Philadelphia area. Growing up, they went to church together in Chinatown and loved frequenting the many small markets, restaurants, and shops, which they still do to this day whenever they get together. Through their respective professions as an urban planner, doctor, and occupational therapist, they are always excited to learn new ways to love and advocate for the people and places where they live and work, and Chinatown is no exception.

Emil White

Emil uses his camera to introduce a visual conversation of curiosity and beauty between himself and the observer. Blending artistic elements beyond the two dimensional space, Emil strives to capture and create a narrative through photography that is simply human.

Caroline Aung

Caroline is a community planner and researcher currently working in Philadelphia’s Chinatown. She enjoys exploring black and white film photography as a medium to express complex attachments to places and people. She is excited to be a part of this project to showcase the singular and general significance of Chinatown as home.
