Arigatogozaimashita translates to a formal "thank you." From coffee shops to fast food restaurants to train stations and everywhere in between, I heard that a lot in my brief visit to Tokyo. The first time coming up and out from a train station can be quite overwhelming. There are not many training stations with one simple entrance/exit. The major stations are actually multiple stations connected together with 15 or more entrances/exits. Once you know where you need to go, getting around is actually quite easy. A train can get you to almost anywhere within the 37 million strong metropolis. Limited time meant limited places to go. A game plan and numerous recommendations from friends helped me identify a mix of popular and local places to visit. Sometimes it's nice, though, to make a tangent and walk down a random street and discover scenes that no travel guide will show you. For me, those are the scenes I remember the most.
